Insider Stories|Producer Wu Yang: I want to present multifaceted narrators to reconstruct the hidden history
English Version
I first found out about Transpacific Calls(越洋电话) when The SOPA 2024 Awards announced the Finalists, and the name "Transpacific Calls" appeared on the list for the Audio Reporting Award. At first glance I was intrigued and wondered why I hadn't heard of it before, it must be a new narrative podcast. I opened Pocket Casts and subscribed to Transpacific Calls, and found that it had already been updated for two seasons and 39 episodes, which was like a treasure to me, thinking that I would be able to hear good stories again!
When I clicked on the program, after a short dialing sound and the ringing of the phone, I heard a thick male voice read without hesitation: "Use sound to penetrate the shielded world, and use stories to reconstruct the hidden history. ...... Here we listen to the outside world together." I was instantly hooked, and the next thing that rang out was a live voice that quickly brought me into the context of the story.
After listening to the first episode of the program, I thought that Transpacific Calls is a highly produced narrative Chinese podcast, no less than the well-known Story FM, and it focuses on and tells the stories of people or social events of public interest, and its uniqueness and historical value make me believe that it will surely take home the Audio Reporting Award.
